Behringer’s Ultrapatch Pro PX2000 is a brilliantly conceived patchbay that enables you to get your studio or rehearsal room connections organized and get you one step closer to the effective, professional working method you crave. Whether for a complex studio matrix or a modest patching solution for smaller setups, the Ultrapatch Pro is an investment you’ll never regret.
Review:
Feature:
Dip switches on top of the unit allow you to select Normalled, 1/2-normalled, Open or Parallel for each A/B duo of ports. If you think you won’t use that feature, you’re wrong, it’s very, very handy.
Quality:
Solid, sturdy, with tight jacks. I think you could run over it with a car and not hurt it.
Value:
Worth every penny and p! robably more.
Desirability:
It’s just a patch bay, not very sexy, but it is now my favorite, most useful piece of gear because of how it “enabled” the rest of my gear.
Sound:
Adds no apparent noise to my signal path and has even solved a ground loop problem I was having with an old Korg M1.
Support:
Behringer is slow as death to answer emails, but the one time I’ve ever had to return a new “B-stock” Behringer item, they replaced it with a brand new “A-stock” one for no additional charge.
Overall:
If you have a multitrack and a few DSPs, or even an amp and a few different pieces of rack gear, a patch bay may be for you. This one is a godsend for me, and as patch bays go, there’s not a thing wrong with this inexpensive unit.
